Materials & Care

MATERIALS
Plated Brass
Brass is the most commonly used base metal for jewellery with intricate design. Our products are plated in rhodium, gold or rose gold. While the plating will, unfortunately wear off and tarnish over time, taking good care of them can prolong their beauty.
316L Stainless Steel
Stainless Steel is used as a hard wearing, long lasting, scratch resistant metal whilst not considered a precious metal it is more durable than silver or platinum.
Sterling Silver
925 Sterling Silver is an alloy made of 92.5% pure silver and 7.5% of other metals although predominantly copper. We plate our silver products in gold, rose gold. Sterling silver by nature and easily tarnishes caused by oxidation  however you can maintain the shine by regularly polishing.
Gold
Our 14k solid gold pieces are designed to last forever. Gold will not oxidise and is one of the least reactive materials and therefore needs little maintenance. It is great for sensitive ears and can be worn everyday.
PVD Gold
Unlike plating, Physical Vapour Deposition is the most advanced surface finishing technique used today to treat stainless steel jewellery and is a hard wearing, low cost alternative to gold. Products that have undergone the Ion Plating process have been tested to be 8 times stronger and tend to be more durable to wear and tear when compared to standard electro plating.
ASTM F136 Titanium
A hypoallergenic material, titanium is both durable and affordable making it a great choice of material for those with sensitive ears. Titanium is the most common metal used for sensitive ears and healing piercings.
